Abstract

Laws are never enough unless the accompanying troupe of structures for implementation are nonpartisan and promote accountability irrespective of who the victim and/or the accused are. Violence against women violates many fundamental rights like the right to life, safeguards against torture and honour, which is an inviolable right as guaranteed by the Constitution. The Afghanistan Penal Code and EVAW law are the two core and important laws that prevent and protect women from violence. The Penal code is a general criminal law that articulates very little about women. No set of laws can prevent VAW if there is widespread normalization and acceptance of some form of violence under most or certain circumstances. The paper aims at to find out the role of institutions by analysing the cases dealt by these institute in the years 2016-18.
