The 2022 floods in Pakistan have resulted in the diverse challenges affecting the livelihoods of millions of people in the flood-hit regions of the country. The intensity and severity of floods are increasing day by day with critical consequences. However, detailed literature is present on the impact of the 2022 floods on Pakistan but the potential challenges with in-depth analysis are still not fully highlighted in the present literary work. Based on current literature and present data, this study focuses on the various challenges caused by the 2022 floods along with an evaluation of policy implications and recommendations to address the flood disasters in Pakistan. The findings of this research intend to analyze multidimensional challenges including economic, social, and environmental challenges with different related sectors affected by the 2022 floods. Along with these the research also examines the policy implications by the government to tackle those challenges. The qualitative method is used to assess the vulnerability of key sectors, the government response, and policy deficiency by analyzing the primary and secondary sources. Pakistan could tackle the disaster consequences and handle future risks after adopting risk reduction strategies with developmental frameworks and introducing effective disaster management policies to the existing system.
